The short version

This site collects almost nothing, and there is no advertising or cross-site tracking on it.

What is collected

If you join the email list, your email address is stored by the email provider that sends those messages. It is used to send you what you asked for and nothing else. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe, and unsubscribing removes you.

Anonymous page statistics. Which pages get visited, roughly where visitors come from. No fingerprinting, no identifying anyone across sites. Statistics are aggregate — they say a page was read, not who read it.

Spam protection on the signup form. The email form is provided by EmailOctopus and protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which sets cookies and checks whether you are a person. That is the one place on this site where a third party sets a cookie, and it only applies to the signup box. Everything else here is cookieless.

What is not collected

• No advertising cookies. No ad networks, no retargeting, no pixels. The reCAPTCHA cookie described above is for spam protection, not advertising.
• No accounts and no passwords. There is nothing to log into.
• No selling or sharing of your email, to anyone, for any reason.
• No cross-site tracking, so nothing here follows you anywhere else.

Links to other sites

Some links lead to other companies — a store, a charting platform, a broker. Once you click one, you are on their site and their privacy policy applies, not this one. Read theirs, particularly if you are about to create an account.

Your data

Email me or leave a comment and I’ll remove your address from the list. You don’t need a reason and I won’t ask for one.

If you are in a jurisdiction with a formal right to access or delete personal data, the same request covers it — there is very little to hand over, which is rather the point.
